MYCENTRALJERSEY.COM – Five years after Hurricane Sandy, New Jersey keeps its fingers crossed that another superstorm of its kind isn’t looming anytime soon.

That, unfortunately, seems to be the state’s primary defense against nature, because too little has been done since Sandy to prepare for the effects of climate change, rising sea levels, and the inevitable next storm likely to strike far sooner than anyone wants to imagine.

That lack of response could one day be the most troubling legacy of the Chris Christie years.
