Pompton Lakes officials say cleanup is a ‘slow process,’ oppose Superfund for DuPont site

JAMES M. O’NEILL / NORTHJERSEY.COM – Pompton Lakes elected officials remain opposed to naming a former DuPont munitions site in town to the federal Superfund program for cleanup, despite a renewed push by residents who live above contaminated groundwater from the site.

The issue drew heated comments by Borough Council members and Mayor Michael Serra at a meeting this week, and in later interviews with Serra and one of the council members.
