Feds subpoena documents in Seaside Heights carousel-for-beach swap

STEVE STRUNSKY / NJ.COM – Federal prosecutors have subpoenaed documents from Seaside Heights involving the controversial swap of 1.3 acres of public beach property for a vintage carousel and a lot along the boardwalk where the beloved 108-year-old merry-go-round would be relocated and operated by the borough, officials said.

The United States Attorney’s Office in Newark, which issued the subpoena on June 20, wants the documents by July 11, and the borough will comply with the deadline, said the mayor and the borough attorney …
