Editorial: Feds must fund Cyanamid cleanup

MYCENTRALJERSEY.COM – The Environmental Protection Agency has signed off on a final cleanup plan for the most contaminated portions of the American Cyanamid Superfund site in Bridgewater.

That’s the good news, announced last week. Unfortunately, this could mark the last meaningful movement we see on the project for a long time to come. Other Superfund “priorities” might similarly stall. This is, after all, the work of the exceedingly anti-environment Trump Administration.

When the Cyanamid site made it onto a new Superfund priority list late last year, local officials and environmentalists were rightly, if cautiously, pleased; any special attention, after all, was better than nothing …
