MICHAEL SOL WARREN / NJ.COM – A major carmaker has been hit with big penalties for an alleged emissions cheating operation, and that means money in the bank for New Jersey.

New Jersey will receive $5.3 million from two separate settlements of lawsuits against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Robert Bosch, according to a recent announcement from the state. Fiat Chrysler will pay New Jersey $1.94 million, and Bosch will pay the state $3.39 million
