Will Murphy’s plan to constantly salt the roads wreak environmental havoc? Time will tell.

MICHAEL SOL WARREN / NJ.COM – Another snowstorm hit parts of New Jersey on Tuesday, and like clockwork trucks were out on highways and roads across the state laying down layers of salt and brine in preparation.

“Better safe than sorry,” Gov. Phil Murphy’s mantra seems to go. After a snowstorm last November left motorists stranded on roads for hours on end, the Murphy administration has developed a habit of aggressively preparing for any coming snow. That has meant New Jersey’s roads have been relatively clear in recent storms, albeit with the help of the fact that some storms have petered out, failing to reach predicted levels.
