JONATHAN D. SALANT / NJ.COM – President Donald Trump’s efforts to expand offshore oil drilling — including in the Atlantic Ocean off the Jersey Shore — faces delays because of a federal court ruling.
Interior Department spokeswoman Molly Block said the department is studying what to do next following a U.S. District Court ruling in Alaska that rejected Trump’s efforts to overturn an existing ban on oil drilling in parts of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans.
“Given the recent court decision, the department is simply evaluating all of its options to determine the best pathway to accomplish the mission entrusted to it by the president,” Block said …
