Editorial: Murphy kept his promise to restore the Pinelands Commission

STAR-LEDGER – There is no more important environmental planning board in our state than the Pinelands Commission. Its 15 members are responsible for the stewardship of 1.1 million acres across seven counties. They protect the wetlands and wildlife that reside within, the 17-trillion-gallon aquifer that flows beneath, and the natural playground preserved for generations still unborn. It is a sacred trust.

It is not a place for political people with a fondness for development. It is not a job for people who want to jam 20-mile pipelines through its pristine passages …
