Editorial: Time to kick the plastic habit

JERSEY JOURNAL – Jersey City has good reason to be proud today.

As of 12:01 a.m., most single-use plastic bags are now banned in the city.

If Hoboken’s experience having banned the bags back in January is to be a model, city officials can expect a little initial blowback but will then find that shoppers and store owners alike quickly adapt to the new way of life.
