NEWS 12 NJ – A lake in Hunterdon County is under a warning from the Department of Environmental Protection due to an algae bloom.
The DEP says people should not touch the water at Spruce Spring Reservoir in Clinton. The algae bloom was first reported in the beginning of June, and the swimming areas were closed.
The bloom was cleared, but came back a day later. Algae can cause a rash, an allergic reaction or flu-like symptoms.
The algae also forced two busy recreation areas to be closed for swimmers just ahead of a holiday week …
