Editorial: Meadowlands too precious to leave to vague guidelines

JERSEY JOURNAL – When it hears from the public this week on its draft for the 2020 Hackensack Meadowlands District Master Plan, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority must listen carefully to a bevy of concerns.

As is, the NJSEA’s vaguely worded draft leaves too much room for potential overdevelopment of the ecologically sensitive area on both sides of the Hackensack River that has been nursed back to health in recent decades.

Further, it practically ignores the looming fallout from the soon-to-open American Dream complex.
