New Jersey scores clean-air victory in pollution battle versus Trump administration

SCOTT FALLON / NORTHJERSEY.COM – States whose air pollution blows into New Jersey and contributes to high smog levels will not be able to delay making cuts to their harmful emissions, particularly from coal-burning power plants, a federal appeals panel  ruled Tuesday.

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down a portion of a rule by the Trump administration that had removed a 2021 deadline for upwind states to make reductions.
