Gov Murphy delivers state of the state address

NORTHJERSEY.COM – Dating back to his days on the campaign trail in 2017, Gov. Phil Murphy has attempted to portray himself as the state’s first truly “green governor,” and pledged to make New Jersey a cleaner-energy state going forward.

There have been times since when we felt he came close to living up to his boasts, when he attempted to stand in the way of polluters and stand up for the state’s water, earth and air and all its life forms. There have been other times, though, such as in his slow-footed opposition to the proposed gas-fired power plant in North Bergen — which would have benefited only New York City — that have made us question his commitment to “clean energy.” …
